Storage
Storage for the gap between moving out and moving in.
Somewhere considered for your things when the dates do not line up, with a record of everything that went in.
Who it is for
The situations this solves.
Storage is rarely the plan. It is what happens when settlement moves, a lease ends early or a build runs over, and it needs to be organised quickly without being organised badly.
Settlement dates that do not meet
You are out on the fifteenth and in on the thirtieth. Two weeks of belongings need somewhere sensible to be.
Heading overseas for a while
A contract abroad or an extended trip. The furniture is not coming and the flat is not being kept.
Renovating
Everything out so the trades can work, then back in once the dust settles. Often in two stages rather than one.
Downsizing and deciding later
The new place will not take all of it, and the decisions about what goes are better made without a deadline attached.
What you get
What is included, and what is optional.
Included as standard
- An itemised inventory of everything going in
- Wrapping and protection suited to storage rather than a short trip
- Transport from your home into storage
- Transport out and delivery when you are ready
- A record you can check your goods back against on the way out
- One coordinator across the move in, the stay and the move out
Optional, or job dependent
- Packing before the load goes into storage
- Access to your goods during the storage period, with 48 hours' notice
- Staged retrieval, taking some items out before the rest
- Longer terms, with the rate set out in your written quote
How it works
From first call to finished.
- 01
Inventory first
Everything listed before it leaves. Storage without a proper inventory is how things quietly disappear.
- 02
Prepare and protect
Wrapped for a stay rather than a trip, because weeks in storage put different demands on packing than an afternoon on a truck.
- 03
Into storage
Loaded and stored, with the inventory filed against your job so it can be found without a hunt.
- 04
Out and delivered
Checked back against the inventory on the way out, then delivered and placed at the new address.
- Since 2020
- The company behind Movewise has been moving Australians since 2020.
- Insurance
- Transit insurance available on every move — cover confirmed in your written quote.
- Crews
- Trained, uniformed and briefed on every job

Questions
The things people actually ask.
- What kind of storage is it?
- Your goods are kept in a secure warehouse. Your goods are packed into storage containers used only for your move, sealed at loading and not opened again until delivery. That matters for access, handling and cost, so it is all set out in your written quote before you commit.
- Can I get to my things while they are stored?
- Yes, with 48 hours' notice so the right container can be brought out. If you know in advance that you will need something - documents, seasonal gear, a tool you will want - tell us before the load goes in and we will pack it so it is reachable.
- How long can I store for?
- The minimum is one week. Tell us your expected period when you enquire, and tell us if it is genuinely open-ended rather than guessing at a date.
- How is storage priced?
- Storage is charged at a weekly rate per storage container, set out in your written quote. How many containers you need turns on volume, so an accurate inventory is what keeps the ongoing figure predictable.
- Will my furniture be alright in there?
- Preparation decides that more than anything else - wrapping, keeping things off the floor, and never storing anything damp. If something needs a controlled climate, such as artwork or an instrument, tell us before the load goes in and we will talk you through the options.
- Are my goods covered while in storage?
- Transit insurance available on every move — cover confirmed in your written quote. Storage cover and transit cover are commonly separate arrangements with different terms, so ask for both in writing rather than assuming one extends to the other.
