Car Relocation

Car relocation, booked with the rest of the move.

Your car travels while you do, so it is waiting for you instead of costing you three days of driving.

Who it is for

The situations this solves.

Driving a car interstate sounds cheaper until you count the fuel, the two nights of accommodation and the days off work at the other end.

  • Two cars, one household

Somebody has to drive both, or one of them has to travel another way. Usually the second one is the problem.

  • A long haul the car should not do

An older vehicle where three thousand kilometres is a real risk, or a lease with a kilometre cap you would rather not spend.

  • Flying to the new city

The family flies, the furniture goes by road, and the car needs to make its own way without anyone behind the wheel.

  • Something you would rather not drive

A classic, a low-clearance car, or a vehicle that is not currently registered or running.

What you get

What is included, and what is optional.

Included as standard

  • Booking and coordination alongside your household move
  • A written condition report at collection, with photographs
  • Transport between capitals on a planned schedule
  • An estimated collection window and an estimated delivery window
  • A condition check against the original report at delivery
  • One coordinator handling both the car and the household load

Optional, or job dependent

  • Collection and delivery, door-to-door and depot-to-depot
  • Enclosed transport for classic, prestige or low-clearance vehicles, available on request, depending on the route
  • Non-running vehicles, which need different loading equipment
  • Car relocation booked on its own, without a household move

How it works

From first call to finished.

  1. 01

    Give us the vehicle details

Make, model, dimensions, whether it runs, and any modifications or clearance issues that change how it loads.

  2. 02

    Condition report at collection

Documented and photographed before it goes anywhere, so there is a baseline that both sides agreed to.

  3. 03

    Transit

On its way, with an estimated delivery window and a contact who can tell you where things stand.

  4. 04

    Delivery and check

Handed over and checked against the original condition report, with you present wherever possible.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

Is it door-to-door, or do I drop the car somewhere?
We offer both, door-to-door and depot-to-depot. The two work quite differently on timing and cost, so we will tell you which suits your route before you book rather than after.
How long will the car take?
We give you an estimated transit window when we book. Transit times for vehicles are always estimates and never guarantees - they depend on the route, the load and road conditions. Do not plan a first day at work around a car that has not landed yet.
Can I leave belongings in the car?
Plan not to. Loose items affect weight and can move around in transit, and personal effects left in a vehicle are generally not covered by the arrangements for the car itself. Keep anything you need with you.
Does the car have to be driveable?
Not necessarily, but tell us up front if it is not. Non-running vehicles need winching and different equipment, and finding that out at collection means the truck leaves without it.
Can you move a classic or a modified car?
Low clearance, oversized tyres and delicate paint all change the equipment needed. Tell us what it is and we will confirm what we can arrange. Enclosed transport is available on request, depending on the route.
Is the vehicle covered in transit?
Transit insurance available on every move — cover confirmed in your written quote. Vehicle cover can differ from cover for household goods, so ask for the terms that apply to the car specifically.
