Interstate Relocations

Interstate relocations, planned end to end.

One person who knows your move, from the day you book to the day the last box lands in the new place.

Who it is for

The situations this solves.

Moving states is a logistics job wearing the costume of a house move. The distance is the easy part. The dates, the gaps and the handovers are where it goes wrong.

  • A job with a start date

You need to be at a desk in another city on a fixed Monday, and your household needs to catch up with you without you flying back twice.

  • Moving the whole family

Schools, pets, a car and three bedrooms of furniture, all needing to arrive in a sensible order rather than at once.

  • Selling and buying at different speeds

Settlement on one end does not match the other. Your things need somewhere to be in between.

  • Coming home

Back to family after a stint away, often with more than you left with and less time than you would like.

What you get

What is included, and what is optional.

Included as standard

  • A full inventory with condition notes taken before anything moves
  • One coordinator for the whole relocation, not a new voice each call
  • Transit-grade wrapping and protection for the long haul
  • Loading and securing for distance, which is not the same as a local load
  • Transport between capitals on a planned schedule
  • Delivery and placement into the rooms you nominate
  • An estimated delivery window, and updates if it moves

Optional, or job dependent

  • Packing at the origin, unpacking at the destination
  • Storage at either end while dates settle
  • Car relocation so the vehicle travels too
  • Cleaning at the property you are leaving

How it works

From first call to finished.

  1. 01

    Map the dates

Your pickup window and an estimated delivery window, worked backwards from when you actually need to be in.

  2. 02

    Inventory and written quote

Everything listed, everything priced. Interstate moves go wrong when the inventory is vague, so we take our time here.

  3. 03

    Pickup and transit

Loaded, secured and on its way, with a point of contact who can tell you where it is.

  4. 04

    Delivery and placement

Unloaded against the inventory, furniture reassembled and placed, so you are not sleeping on a mattress in the hall.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

How long will it take to arrive?
It depends on the route, the season and road conditions. We give you an estimated delivery window when we quote and keep you posted if it shifts. We do not guarantee a delivery date, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
How is an interstate move priced?
You get an itemised written quote, with transport, packing, storage and any extras on their own lines. Interstate pricing turns on volume and distance, so the inventory matters - an accurate list up front is what keeps the final figure the same as the quoted one.
What if my new place is not ready?
Common, and workable. We can hold your things in storage and deliver when you have keys. Talk to us early, because it changes how the load is packed.
Can I pack it myself?
Yes. Bear in mind that an interstate load travels further and is handled more than a local one, so packing needs to be firmer. If you are packing yourself, ask us for the standard we work to.
Can plants and outdoor gear come with us?
Quarantine rules restrict what crosses state borders, and soil and plants are the usual sticking point. Tell us anything unusual when you enquire and we will confirm what can travel before it is on the truck.
Are my things covered while they are in transit?
Transit insurance available on every move — cover confirmed in your written quote. Interstate and local cover are not always identical, so ask for the detail that applies to your route before you book.
