Local knowledge
Perth is separated from the next capital by the Nullarbor, and there is no short interstate move out of Western Australia. That single fact shapes everything: departures run to a schedule rather than on demand, loads are consolidated, and booking late genuinely costs you time rather than just money. If you are moving to or from the east coast, the earlier you talk to us the more options you have.
The route east crosses long stretches with limited services, and a truck on it is committed once it leaves. Loads are packed for distance and vibration rather than for a short run - which is a different packing standard, not just more tape. It is also why we ask for an accurate inventory: a load that has to be re-worked in Adelaide is a bad day for everyone.
Because interstate work out of Perth runs on planned departures, the useful question is not how fast a truck can drive but when the next departure is and whether your dates fit it. We give an estimated delivery window and update it if it moves - we do not guarantee a delivery date, and nobody honest will.
A large part of WA's moving work is driven by fly-in fly-out rosters, which means move dates set by a swing rather than by a lease, and often one person organising a household while they are not in it. That is workable, but it needs a clear point of contact and someone with authority at each end. Tell us up front if the person we are dealing with will be on site or on a roster.
Perth summers are hot and dry, and a sealed truck sitting in the sun gets considerably hotter than the outside air. Candles, electronics, vinyl and anything with adhesive do not do well in it. Early starts help on the local leg, and how heat-sensitive items are packed matters more here than in a milder climate. Flag anything you are worried about and we will pack it accordingly.
