FAQ
The things people actually ask.
Straight answers, including the ones that are not what you want to hear. Where a detail is still being confirmed you will see a marked placeholder rather than a guess.
Quotes & pricing
How do I get a quote?
Two short steps online, or one phone call. We ask what is moving, where from and to, when, and how to reach you. You can leave anything you are unsure about blank and we will fill the gaps together.
Link to this answerHow is a move priced?
Local moves are quoted as a fixed price, in writing, and interstate moves as an itemised written quote, based on what is moving and the access at both ends. You have it before anything is booked - we do not quote a figure on the phone and revise it once the truck is loaded.
Link to this answerCan the quote change on the day?
A quote reflects the inventory and the access you described. If those turn out to be materially different - twice the boxes, a flight of stairs nobody mentioned, a truck that cannot get within a hundred metres - then the job is different and the price follows. That is why we ask detailed questions up front rather than guessing low to win the booking.
Link to this answerHow far ahead should I book?
Earlier is easier, particularly at the end of the month and over school holidays when demand is highest. Tell us the date you are working towards and we will tell you honestly what is available.

What time will the crew arrive?
You get an arrival window rather than a single minute, because the honest answer depends on traffic and on how the previous job went. If it moves we tell you as soon as we know, rather than letting you wonder.
Link to this answerDo I need to be there?
Someone who can make decisions should be at both ends - which room a wardrobe goes in, whether something comes or stays. It does not have to be you, but it should be someone with the authority to answer.
Link to this answerWhat if there is no lift, or the truck cannot park close?
Tell us before the day. Stairs and a long carry change how many people the job needs, and pretending otherwise just means a slower move and a surprise on the invoice. Some councils require a permit to park a truck - we will let you know if yours is one of them.
Link to this answerIs there anything you cannot take?
Dangerous goods do not travel: petrol, gas bottles, paint, solvents, fireworks and ammunition. Drain the mower and the whipper snipper. If you are unsure about something, ask us rather than hiding it in a box.
Link to this answerPacking & materials
Do you supply the boxes and materials?
Cartons, paper, bubble wrap and tape are included when our team does the packing. If you are packing yourself, you can buy cartons and materials from us. Either way, your quote shows what is included and what is charged separately.
Link to this answerCan I pack some of it myself?
Yes, and plenty of people do - books, clothes and linen are straightforward. Leave the kitchen, the glassware and anything fragile to us if you can. Bear in mind that cover often differs between items packed by us and items packed by you, so ask for that distinction in writing before deciding how much to take on.
Link to this answerDo you take the empty boxes away afterwards?
Yes, when we unpack. Empty cartons and packing materials are taken away when we unpack. If you are unpacking yourself, flattened cartons can go out with your council recycling.
Link to this answerStorage
What kind of storage is it?
Your goods are kept in a secure warehouse. Your goods are packed into storage containers used only for your move, sealed at loading and not opened again until delivery. That matters for access, handling and cost, so it is all set out in your written quote before you commit.
Link to this answerCan I get to my things while they are in storage?
Yes, with 48 hours' notice so the right container can be brought out. If you know in advance that you will need something - documents, seasonal gear, a tool you will want - tell us before the load goes in and we will pack it so it is reachable.
Link to this answerHow long can I store for?
The minimum is one week. Tell us your expected period when you enquire, and tell us if it is genuinely open-ended rather than guessing at a date.
Link to this answerInterstate
How long does an interstate move take?
It depends on the route, the season and road conditions. We give you an estimated delivery window when we quote and keep you posted if it shifts. We do not guarantee a delivery date, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
Link to this answerCan my car travel too?
Yes, booked alongside the household move, door-to-door and depot-to-depot. We will tell you which suits your route before you book rather than after.
Link to this answerWhat if my new place is not ready when the truck arrives?
Common, and workable. We can hold your things in storage and deliver when you have keys. Talk to us early, because it changes how the load is packed.
Link to this answerInsurance & damage
Am I insured?
Transit insurance available on every move — cover confirmed in your written quote. Ask for the specifics before you book, and read them. Transit, storage and vehicle cover are not always the same arrangement, so ask for the one that applies to your job.
Link to this answerWhat happens if something is damaged?
Tell the crew before they leave and ask for it to be recorded in writing, with photographs if you can. It then goes to your job coordinator - the same person who organised the move - rather than into a form, and you hear back within 1 business day.
Link to this answerDo you guarantee I will get my bond back after an end-of-lease clean?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Whether a bond is returned is the agent or landlord's decision, assessed against the entry condition report - including things a clean cannot change, like wear, damage or the state of the garden. What we do is work to an end-of-lease checklist and give you a record of it.
